What’s inside the 6 classes:
-We will start looking at simple 3d forms, shading and working with 3d forms when drawing.
- Subsequently, we will create 3d illusion concave and convex drawings on paper, making them personal.
- We will progress into working on toned paper using usual graphite and white pencil - any tone of paper that is similar to the one shown in the banner will be great, and will work with transparent surfaces of water and glass.
- We will then progress into turning the tones into colours, and will create an illusion of a floating fish in the water.
- We will then turn to the self portrait study, using the new skills gained.

Specialist Colour Course for Kids 12+

We are excited about this course that will look into both historical and contemporary approaches to colour from the old masters to the Pixar animation. This is a great course for older children, young teens and adults alike that will offer a gentle move from drawing to painting.
What's inside:
Session 1 - We will start looking at colours and will paint a simple object using the 3 basic colours - yellow, red and blue; together we will find out the capacity of one colour alone in acrylic paints; then we will look at the expanded colour wheel by adding white and will practice the tonal gradation with painting atmospheric mountains as our second practical task of this class.
Session 2- in the second lesson we will progress to explore the theory of one paint by studying the layering of colour to achieve different optional effects. In this lesson, we will also learn the old master technique of progressing with your painting by starting from monochrome sepia 3d modelling to the realistic finished painting.
Session 3 - We will use the tools that the colour wheel has to offer and will explore the experiments of light and different atmospheric effects while looking at the Impressionists series. At the end of this class, we will end up with the same subject matter painted in completely different colour schemes of our choice.
Session 4 - it gets even more exciting - having learned from the masters of colour we will continue to learn the analogues, complementary and triadic colour schemes and will learn how to give a certain mood to our painting on the example of famous cartoons that we all love.
Session 5 - It’s time for self-exploration! This final lesson will take all that we have learn and will invite you to paint your self-portrait or someone of your choice preferably working from a mirror, but a photo will be fine. We will use the technique from lesson 2 and will start from sepia much in the manner of Leonardo and Michelangelo and will gradually translate our tones into full-blown colour.
Optional homework is to create a painting showing a ‘certain mood’ - it can be a portrait, landscape or still life. It’s better to work from life and keep your notes and paintings from the course available to use for this extra practice.
It’s a wonderful and fresh course, that has been thoughtfully put together by Anastasia Belous - artist and our workshop leader, it is also a logical continuation of the drawing course that is also available on our website.

What's inside:
Session 1 - We will start looking at colours and will paint a simple object using the 3 basic colours - yellow, red and blue; together we will find out the capacity of one colour alone in acrylic paints; then we will look at the expanded colour wheel by adding white and will practice the tonal gradation with painting atmospheric mountains as our second practical task of this class.
Session 2- in the second lesson we will progress to explore the theory of one paint by studying the layering of colour to achieve different optional effects. In this lesson, we will also learn the old master technique of progressing with your painting by starting from monochrome sepia 3d modelling to the realistic finished painting.
Session 3 - We will use the tools that the colour wheel has to offer and will explore the experiments of light and different atmospheric effects while looking at the Impressionists series. At the end of this class, we will end up with the same subject matter painted in completely different colour schemes of our choice.
Session 4 - it gets even more exciting - having learned from the masters of colour we will continue to learn the analogues, complementary and triadic colour schemes and will learn how to give a certain mood to our painting on the example of famous cartoons that we all love.
Session 5 - It’s time for self-exploration! This final lesson will take all that we have learn and will invite you to paint your self-portrait or someone of your choice preferably working from a mirror, but a photo will be fine. We will use the technique from lesson 2 and will start from sepia much in the manner of Leonardo and Michelangelo and will gradually translate our tones into full-blown colour.
Optional homework is to create a painting showing a ‘certain mood’ - it can be a portrait, landscape or still life. It’s better to work from life and keep your notes and paintings from the course available to use for this extra practice.
It’s a wonderful and fresh course, that has been thoughtfully put together by Anastasia Belous - artist and our workshop leader, it is also a logical continuation of the drawing course that is also available on our website.

Anime Boy - on white and black background

This is a block of two pre-recorded classes that will teach the curious youngsters how to draw a boy anime style! The first part will go through the proportions of the head and teach how to shade the portrait with pencils in academical way, yet easy for kids. The Second part will offer painting the same boy in reverse on black paper using white paint. In this session children will further understand how to work with light in their art practice and can create a real cinematic effect with white paint on black paper.

Anime Male with pencils For this session, you will need a set of graphite pencils. Don't worry if you only have one or a few.

Anime in colour For this session, you will need a sheet of black or dark coloured 180gsm A4 paper, a white chalk pencil or a normal one if you can see the drawing, but white will show better, a rubber eraser, white paint - either gouache, poster or acrylic. Your child can also experiment by using green or red paint instead of white.

This is a block of two popular classes for kids who love anime and would like to learn along shading and basic colouring techniques.
This is an excellent and affordable block of the two recordings that will explain how to draw an anime head, the correct proportions, how to understand 3d shading with pencil and then with colour. Great fun!

About this event
We invite children and their parents to watch this recorded class and re-create a portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in colour.
We are very saddened by the loss of the Queen. Long live the king!
You will receive a live step-by-step instruction on how to start your drawing, get portrait likeness and will get tips on how to choose the colour of the suite and a hat from the professional artist, art historian and art educator with years of experience Anastasia Belous.
